Can a person lose their salvation?

This is a highly debated topic. Some traditions teach "eternal security" (once saved, always saved), while others teach that it is possible for a believer to fall away from faith and lose salvation.

How can a person be saved (get to heaven)?

Salvation is a gift of God, received through grace by faith in Jesus Christ, not by works. It involves repenting of sin and believing in Christ's death and resurrection as the full payment for one's sin.

We who are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified
