What is sin?

Why is there suffering and evil if God is good?

The Bible attributes suffering to the introduction of sin into the world through the disobedience of humanity (Adam and Eve). God allows it for a time, often to bring about a greater good, but promises to ultimately defeat evil and suffering in the new heaven and earth.
